Personal Website Re-design

Over the years, I’ve built several small websites for personal projects, such as Humankind-Cultures and a handful of others. In the past, I relied on website builders like Wix, and in more recent years, I’ve used plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I don’t consider myself a web developer by any means—most of my projects have been fairly simple—but I have designed some visually appealing websites for university assignments and personal use.

This time, however, I wanted to try something different. Instead of building a site from scratch, I decided to redesign my personal website (which was long overdue for an upgrade) using a web framework. I initially looked into Jekyll but ultimately chose Hugo.

I’ll admit, as a novice in web development, getting everything up and running wasn’t as straightforward as I had hoped. I struggled with understanding the setup process and figuring out how to publish the site. But after some trial and error, I finally made it work using Hugo’s Coder theme—and if you’re reading this, you’re looking at the result!

I’ve also taken the opportunity to add some old blog posts that had been sitting unpublished for too long and updated my past projects to showcase them properly. It’s been a learning experience, but I’m excited about how everything has come together.
